Baldwin PTA welcomes students of all grades and abilities to explore their inner artist with the Reflections Program.
Let your imagination fly and unleash your inner artistic talent! Choreograph a dance, produce a film, write a poem or story, compose a song, take a picture or create a piece of visual art and tell us what the theme: “Look Within” means to you.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE

Turn in artwork and attached entry form to the Reflections box (under the Reflections table by the main office) no later than 3 pm on Oct 10.

RULES & GUIDELINES
Reflections is a national, PTA-sponsored program that encourages students to creatively express themselves through art. Multiple entries within a single arts category are permitted. All students at Baldwin are invited to participate and submit original artwork in any of these areas:
With positive recognition as the focus of this program, rather than competition, students of all ages and abilities can experience the benefits of creative expression.
Reflections encourages students of all ages to:
Unleash creative talents and be inspired
Express themselves imaginatively in their artwork
Experience the fun and joy of making art
Tap into critical-thinking skills to create art inspired by the annual theme
Receive positive recognition for their original works of art
You can get your forms two ways:
Visit the Reflections table outside the front office to pick up your forms.
You will need the Official Participation Rules, Student Entry Form and Category Rules.

RECOGNITION AND JUDGING
All students who participate in the Reflections program will be recognized at Baldwin. All entries will also be on display in the Baldwin Library during the October 10th PTA meeting. Baldwin's top entries will advance to the Austin Council of PTAs and then possibly to state or national level.
Entries will be judged on the following 3 criteria (total of 40 points):
Interpretation of Theme - How closely the submission relates to the theme "Look Within" based on the artwork and the artist statement. Children should use the artist statement section on the entry form to explain the connection between the submission and the topic. (20 points)
Artistic Merit and Creativity - How creative and original the artwork is in its exploration and presentation of the theme. (12 points)
Mastery of Medium - The level of skill demonstrated in the basic principles/techniques of the arts area. (8 points)
